Atrial Fibrillation Ablation with the Farapulse® Ablation system

Dr Jackson was proud to be able to perform the second atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation with the Farapulse® pulsed field ablation system in Australia and the first in a patient with a mechanical mitral valve. This system makes AF ablation more straightforward and faster to perform. It also promises to reduces possible side effects of ablation such as temporary injury to surrounding nerves or the oesophagus. See 'AF ablation' under patient information.

Left Atrial Appendage Closure

Dr Thambar performs left atrial appendage closure at Newcastle Private Hospital and has recently started performing this procedure in selected patients at John Hunter Hospital.
